Striving to live independently
CPES provides comprehensive, specialized residential treatment services for adults with a variety of individual needs.
CPES PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE, SPECIALIZED RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT SERVICES FOR A RANGE OF DEVELOPMENTAL/INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS WITHIN HOME-LIKE SETTINGS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO HEALING AND A SENSE OF COMMUNITY.
We are committed to help you gain insight into your behaviors and feelings, set and achieve realistic goals and discover ways to make and maintain lasting improvements. Our programs are designed to provide each person with optimal learning opportunities and exceptional support from professionally trained staff.
Each program participant is seen as a unique person with their own strengths. Residents are accepted and appreciated for who they are, rather than being viewed as a client. As such, the CPES therapeutic approach is modeled after Person Centered Planning (PCP). PCP is a collaborative process to help people identify the supports and services they need to live a quality life based on their preferences and values. The person served drives the planning process and those who know the person best are important supporters in the planning process.
PCP is a shift from the old treatment paradigm of creating goals and plans for a person. In the past, many plans focused on a person’s weaknesses and created treatments and supports to address these weaknesses. First and foremost, PCP seeks to create plans with a person and focus on what is important to them, attention to what is important for them, and the creation of a balance between these two. The PCP process starts with listening to the person and honoring their vision. The PCP identifies the gaps between the person’s life and how he/she wants his/her life to be.
